Who Owns Buick?

2021 Buick Envision driving through puddle

St. Simons drivers who are either proud owners of a Buick vehicle or who are considering these luxury vehicles as their next ride have probably wondered “Who owns Buick?” General Motors (GM) owns Buick as well as other well-known brands: GMC, Cadillac, and Chevrolet. With a rich history of over a century, Buick is prominent in the automotive industry and recognizable by many drivers in the Waycross area and beyond. Let’s dive into the history of Buick to learn more about this outstanding automaker before checking out the model showroom at Nalley GMC!

What Is the History of Buick?

If you want to truly see why Buick is well-known, we will have to start at the very beginning. In 1903, Buick started producing vehicles and in that very same year, they incorporated and moved from Detroit to Flint, Michigan. That is where they manufactured the Buick Model B, the first vehicle, and the rest is history.

Throughout the years, Buick created luxury vehicles that impressed many American drivers. Some of them include the Buick Roadmaster, Buick Special, Buick Super, Buick Riviera, Buick LeSabre, and Buick Regal. By their 20th anniversary, Buick produced its one-millionth vehicle. While Buick was thriving as a best-selling, high-end brand, William C. Durant, the owner of Buick, founded GM in 1908 to acquire other brands to make vehicles for drivers from all economic backgrounds.

Where Are Buick Cars Made?

Even though Buick is an American automaker, its manufacturing centers are located throughout the world. While there are plants across the United States, there are also Buick centers in Canada, China, South Korea, and even Germany. The next time you are driving on the Jessup roads, you will now know that you could be driving a car that has seen the world outside America!
